  • Good telephoto camera performance
  • Long battery endurance
  • Vibrant 120Hz AMOLED display
  • Underwhelming processing performance
  • No main camera performance boost over predecessor

A standout budget phone that beats rivals on performance, cameras and software support, with modular accessories hampered by limited US availability.

  • Fast performance for the price with Dimensity 7300 Pro
  • Triple camera system including rare 2X telephoto
  • Excellent AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh
  • Long battery life, often lasting a full day
  • Six years of security updates and three OS upgrades
  • 5G band support may be spotty on some US carriers
  • Modular accessories not sold in the US
  • Only IP54 water resistance
  • No wireless charging

Android Central US

No scoreApr 29, 2025

An impressive sub-$300 phone with a major camera, display, and haptics upgrade over the CMF Phone 1, though the front camera and HDR need refinement.

  • Much brighter display with thinner bezels and no rainbow color shift
  • Flicker-free-friendly PWM dimming at low brightness
  • Telephoto camera noticeably improves zoom detail
  • Wide dynamic range from all lenses
  • Improved haptics matching pricier Nothing phones
  • Display is not LTPO, so less efficient
  • Front camera results inconsistent and softer than predecessor
  • HDR sometimes produces strange bright artifacts
  • Warm color shift in low light
  • Camera UI tile redesign less convenient

Tech Advisor UK

4.5/5Apr 29, 2025

A stylish, versatile budget phone that improves on its predecessor with better cameras, a brighter display and a faster chip for a small price increase.

  • Better main camera and two new auxiliary lenses
  • Brighter 10-bit display with peak 3000 nits
  • Slightly faster chip and added NFC
  • Modular accessories and distinctive design
  • Still very affordable for what it offers
  • Only IP54 rated, a step up from IP52 but limited
  • Single speaker only, no stereo audio
  • Essential Space may cost in the future
  • Software support still trails some rivals like Samsung
