What the reviewers said

Engadget US

8.5/10Jun 9, 2026

A good flip phone with excellent battery life and a compact design, but the $200 price increase over its predecessor is hard to justify given the modest upgrades.

  • Compact chassis that fits well in the palm
  • Excellent battery life, 31 hours on video rundown
  • Upgraded 50MP LOFIC main camera with better dynamic range
  • Improved cover screen features like Live Updates
  • Bright, vivid foldable display
  • $200 more expensive than the previous model
  • Design essentially unchanged from predecessor
  • Peak charging needs proprietary TurboPower adapter not included
  • Low-light photos trail Pixel 10 Pro
  • Faint crease from hinge remains

6/10May 27, 2026

A gorgeous flip phone with excellent battery life, held back by a high price, heavy preinstalled software, and wonky photo processing.

  • Gorgeous, pettable Alcantara back panel
  • Excellent battery life for a flip phone
  • Cover screen is handy and delightful to use
  • Motorola cover screen software beats Samsung's outer screen UI
  • Expensive at $1,499
  • Too much bloatwarey third-party software
  • Main camera colors oversaturated and flat in overcast light
  • No telephoto camera; hinge lacks full dust resistance

3.5/5May 21, 2026

A good flip phone with solid performance and battery life, but nearly identical to last year and overpriced at $1,500.

  • All-day battery life thanks to silicon-carbon cell
  • Good performance from Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • Noticeable main camera improvements
  • Useful cover screen updates and Live Updates support
  • Fast 68W wired charging
  • Priced $200 higher than predecessor, feels overpriced
  • Design and dimensions essentially unchanged, still thick when folded
  • Older chipset rather than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • Limited usable camera zoom
  • Few colors, limited accessories and cases
