A well-balanced almost-flagship with strong display, capable AI camera and solid performance, held back by a heavy design and busy UI.

  • Excellent, bright OLED display with 3840Hz PWM dimming
  • Solid main camera with useful AI features
  • Strong performance from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • IP68/IP69 resistance and six-year update promise
  • Large 5,300mAh battery with fast 100W wired charging
  • Slightly drab and heavy design at 205g
  • Busy, iOS-inspired Magic OS interface
  • Can get faster for the money than rivals
  • Longer display notch takes some screen space

A mid-range Honor phone whose camera system outperforms the Galaxy S24 FE across most categories, making it the best mid-range camera phone.

  • 200MP main camera with richer, more realistic color than Samsung
  • Strong motion capture and portrait mode results
  • 3x telephoto with 50MP sensor, better detail than rival
  • Ultrawide autofocus enables 50MP macro shots
  • IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, six years of updates
  • Ultrawide not better than rival for standard wide-angle shots
  • AI zoom enhancement gave little visible improvement at 18x
  • Zooming beyond 10x is a mixed bag

4/5May 22, 2025

A solid upper mid-range phone with strong cameras, screen, battery and performance. Plastic frame, MagicOS and a weak ultrawide are the main drawbacks.

  • Fast performance from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • Strong 200MP main and dedicated 3x telephoto
  • Excellent Harcourt portrait effects
  • Long battery life and fast wired and wireless charging
  • Bright OLED display with micro-curved edges
  • Plastic frame feels less premium
  • Ultrawide camera is weak
  • MagicOS software not for everyone
  • Selfie camera unchanged and underwhelming
  • Macro photography relies on the ultrawide
