The best all-round phone available, big and expensive but delivering on nearly all of Google's claims with no major weaknesses.

  • Gorgeous design and durable build
  • Excellent display with higher peak brightness
  • Superb camera experience
  • Polished Android 16 software with seven years of updates
  • Best wireless charging on Android via Qi2
  • Big, heavy and bulky at 232g
  • 100x zoom disappointing
  • More expensive than predecessor
  • No expandable storage or dual physical SIM

9/10Staff pickSep 7, 2025

A brilliant phone with excellent software, camera and design, but it barely differs from the cheaper Pixel 10 Pro, so most buyers should choose that or another Pixel 10.

  • Sleek, modern and durable design with IP68 rating
  • Excellent camera and editing features
  • Qi2 wireless charging and magnets
  • Reliable, customizable software with seven years of updates
  • Strong performance for everyday and casual gaming
  • Only real advantage over Pixel 10 Pro is the bigger screen
  • Battery and charging performance is average
  • New AI features disappoint
  • Tensor G5 GPU lacks ray tracing support
  • Slippery to hold one-handed

4.5/5Aug 27, 2025

The best Pixel yet: a large, polished phone with a superb display and cameras, though performance and battery gains are modest.

  • Huge display is among the best smartphone screens
  • Cameras take great photos with effective AI editing
  • Premium, durable and polished design
  • Longer battery life than the standard Pixel 10
  • Faster 45W wired charging than other Pixel 10 models
  • Performance lags and may disappoint power users
  • Battery life hasn't improved versus competitors
  • Some new AI features don't work as advertised
  • Expensive, starting at $1,199 with 256GB storage
  • Colour options are somewhat drab

Tom's Guide US

4/5Aug 27, 2025

Minor, sparse upgrades keep the Pixel 10 Pro XL among top Android phones. Brilliant display and strong cameras, but weak performance and incomplete AI features at launch.

  • Brightest display Tom's Guide has tested
  • More AI and software features to try
  • Strong cameras with new 100x zoom mode
  • Very bright screen performs well outdoors
  • Still lacking in computing power for gaming
  • AI features incomplete or slow to get going
  • Lowest powered flagship; battery efficiency lags rivals
  • Heaviest of main flagships, about 5% heavier than predecessor
